China's PU industry must be like the U.S. in the 1960s, the heady growth years. I've heard that there are as many as 3,000 box pour manufacturers and only a handful of continuous foam line players, for example. The headlines say that as many as 9,000 people attended this PU China 2010 show. Amazing!
PU China 2010 exhibition promises to be the biggest ever held
PU China 2010, organized by Crain Communications Ltd., London, and China Minmetals Corporation, Beijing, is larger than the previous UTECH Asia 2008/PU China 2008 held in Shanghai. In fact PU China 2010 will be the largest dedicated polyurethane exhibition ever held for PU professionals from China and the Pan Pacific region including India.
Paul Mitchell, managing director of Crain Communications: “China has been the powerhouse of growth in the global polyurethanes sector over recent years, and while the current worldwide economic crisis has seen demand drop everywhere, China remains the region with the best prospects for long-term growth in the future. Some recent data on the polyurethanes sector in China shows why so many raw materials suppliers in the PU sector have invested in world-scale production plants in the country.” Managing director Chang Yaojie of China Minmetals Corporation added: “Based on the success of former UTECH Asia/PU China and the positive response we received from the market so far, we expect well over 5,000 polyurethane specialists to visit the exhibition in Shenzhen.”
Alongside the packed and busy exhibition, a free-to-attend series of company-sponsored product seminars are being set up by Crain Communications. There are sessions for CASE, Rigid foams, Flexible foams and Automotive.
