Wegmans Food Markets has recalled its all-purpose bleached flour, company officials announced Wednesday.
The recall was issued because small blue polyurethane balls, part of sifting equipment used to make the flour, may be inside bags of Wegmans’ brand flour with a best-by date of Dec. 20, 2013.
The affected bags were sold between Dec. 24 and Feb. 15 and may be returned to the store for a full refund.
Wegmans’ flour recall comes several days after a recall of nearly a dozen Wegmans brand bread products sold between Feb. 1 and 15. The two recalls are unrelated.
Those products, which range from hamburger rolls to pita bread and sandwich rolls, may contain thin pieces of wire mesh, according to Wegmans. Flour used to make these bread products was made by and supplied to Wegmans by Dakota Specialty Milling.
Recalled bread products may be returned to the store for a full refund.
